Western's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Coral Springs Charter Panthers, sneaking past 1-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since February 11th.

Mason McGeehan tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Western saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taisuky Rodriguez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Western's record is now 11-13. As for Coral Springs Charter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-11.

Coming up, Western will head out to take on McArthur at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.71 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Coral Springs Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cooper City at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
