Basketball Preview: Broadwater Bulldogs vs. Jefferson Panthers
Broadwater is 0-10 against the Panthers since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Broadwater Bulldogs will look to defend their home court against the Jefferson Panthers at 7:15 p.m. Broadwater will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Montana Rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Panthers are ranked 11th).
Last Friday, Broadwater wound up with the same score they had in their last game (53-48), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.
Meanwhile, Jefferson entered their tilt with the Hornets with 14 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 15. Jefferson blew past the Hornets 76-34 at home on Monday. Jefferson has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Jefferson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ryian Eveland, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Eveland is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. MacKenzie Layng was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven steals and six assists.
Broadwater's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Jefferson, they pushed their record up to 15-1 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
Broadwater was dealt a bruising 65-35 loss at the hands of the Panthers when the teams last played back in January. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Broadwater was down 34-9.
