Montezuma-Cortez had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Cedaredge Bruins. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Montezuma-Cortez was especially dominant in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 20-25, 25-13, 25-23.

TessaMercedes Jackson paced Montezuma-Cortez's offense, picking up 16 kills. Jackson got some help from Addison Sopha and her 29 assists. Aubrie Matthias controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Montezuma-Cortez's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Cedaredge, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

After both having extra time off, Montezuma-Cortez and Alamosa will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cedaredge, they are taking a road trip to challenge Grand Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
