Recap: East St. Louis Flyers vs. Kankakee Kays
The East St. Louis Flyers extended their postseason success on Saturday against the Kankakee Kays. They blew past the Kays 39-13. The win was familiar territory for East St. Louis who now have eight in a row.
East St. Louis got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jesse Watson out in front who picked up 101 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Robert (pops) Battle, who rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
Despite the loss, Kankakee still got an impressive performance from James Stampley, who gained 99 total yards and a touchdown.
Even if they lost, Kankakee's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Kennarius Chandler was especially locked on to East St. Louis' QB and sacked him twice.
East St. Louis' victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Kankakee, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-1.
East St. Louis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kankakee also has no future games currently scheduled.
