Baseball Game Preview: Cedar Reds vs. Pine View Panthers

For the second straight game, Cedar will face off against Pine View. The Reds will be playing at home against the Panthers at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cedar has five straight wins, Pine View has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Cedar is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Pine View 20-11 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Reds, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Cedar got a massive performance out of Payton Ludlow, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Ludlow a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Karver Tom, who scored four runs while going 4-for-5.

Cedar was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pine View only posted a batting average of .241.

Pine View's loss dropped their record down to 9-5-1. As for Cedar, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.

Wednesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cedar hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. However, it's not like Pine View struggles in that department as they've averaged .342. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
