Softball Game Preview: San Marin Mustangs vs. Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks

The San Marin Mustangs will challenge the Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

San Marin barely beat Archie Williams the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs didn't even let the Peregrine Falcons on the board on Tuesday, marking the Mustangs' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Tamalpais made sure to put some runs up on the board against Terra Linda on Friday. The Red Tailed Hawks were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over the Trojans. Considering the Red Tailed Hawks have won four games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The win made it two in a row for Tamalpais and bumps their season record up to 7-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for San Marin, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

San Marin skirted past Tamalpais 6-4 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Tailed Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
