Softball Recap: South Iredell's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

South Iredell never got on the board in their matchup last Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against A.L. Brown on Friday. They walked away with a 10-5 victory over the Wonders. The Vikings have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wonders, too.

Caroline Constable was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Carlee Haines was a standout: she scored a run while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Addi Myers was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

South Iredell hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

South Iredell moved to 5-7 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for A.L. Brown, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3-1.

Looking ahead, South Iredell will welcome Mooresville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mooresville will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for A.L. Brown, they will head out on the road to take on Northwest Cabarrus at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. A.L. Brown's pitchers better be ready for this one: Northwest Cabarrus has averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
