Basketball Game Preview: Woodbine Tigers vs. CAM Cougars

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers duke it out with the Cougars on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Thursday, Woodbine didn't have too much trouble with Boyer Valley as they won 63-49. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 228th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for CAM against Griswold on Thursday as the team secured a 66-36 win. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 25 points or more this season.

Woodbine has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points over those games. As for CAM, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-10.

Woodbine was able to grind out a solid win over CAM when the teams last played back in January, winning 52-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Woodbine since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
