Basketball Recap: Rehoboth Christian Skates Past Zuni with Ease

Rehoboth Christian was handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Zuni on Tuesday. The Rehoboth Christian Lynx simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Zuni Thunderbirds 63-34. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-6.

Zuni's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Deron Lastyano, who posted nine points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals, and Ty'Shawn Nieto, who scored eight points and nine boards. Lastyano is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed four or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nathan Simplicio, who put up two points and 11 boards.

Rehoboth Christian's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Zuni, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-4.

Rehoboth Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-51 win against Mora on the 16th. Zuni has also already played their next matchup, an 80-55 loss against Grants on the 15th.
