Basketball Recap: Somerset College Prep Academy Takes a Loss

Somerset College Prep Academy lost against Tradition Prep back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Somerset College Prep Academy Spartans had to suffer through a 75-48 loss at the hands of the Tradition Prep Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 656th, while the Pirates are ranked 233rd).

Somerset College Prep Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Lenz Constant, who posted five points. Micheal Hill also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Ethan Chevres continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Tradition Prep, almost dropping a double-double on 24 points and nine assists. Those nine assists gave Chevres a new career-high. Aydan Fields was another key player, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 14 boards.

Somerset College Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Tradition Prep, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-6.

Somerset College Prep Academy will square off against Westwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tradition Prep, they will face off against Master's Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
