Volleyball Game Preview: University Prep Panthers vs. CORE Butte Lynx + Official Tickets

After both having extra time off, the University Prep Panthers and the CORE Butte Lynx will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

CORE Butte will take on a team with plenty of momentum: University Prep extended their winning streak to six on Thursday. The Panthers put the hurt on Anderson with a sharp 3-0 victory.

University Prep was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-20, 25-18.

Among those leading the charge was Campbell Cogle, who had eight digs and three aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in October of 2024.

Cogle wasn't the only good servers: University Prep was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 21 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for CORE Butte, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Burney on Thursday. The Lynx haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

CORE Butte walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 26-24, 25-23.

CORE Butte's win bumped their record up to 18-7. As for University Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 27-8.

Everything went University Prep's way against CORE Butte when the teams last played back in October of 2023, as University Prep made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
