Softball Recap: Mountain View Thunder vs. Evergreen Plainsmen
After only one run in their last contest, Mountain View made sure to put some runs up on the board against Evergreen on Thursday. The Thunder were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over the Plainsmen. That looming 16-4 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Thunder yet this season.
Peyton Lalande made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Gracie Single was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Palomino, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Mountain View was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Mountain View's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9. As for Evergreen, they dropped their record down to 0-12 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
Mountain View does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Evergreen, they will square off against Prairie at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
