Basketball Game Preview: Eaton Eagles vs. Franklin Wildcats

The Eaton Eagles will face off against the Franklin Wildcats at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Eaton and three for Franklin.

On Thursday, Eaton came up short against Brookville and fell 53-40. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 634th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 258th).

Meanwhile, Franklin played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Preble Shawnee, falling 47-26. The Wildcats were down 37-16 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Eaton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-16.

Eaton came up short against Franklin when the teams last played back in November of 2023, falling 52-39. Can Eaton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
