Jamestown and Hickory are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Muskies will be playing at home against the Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Jamestown's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Slippery Rock as they made off with a 9-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Muskies, who have now won five games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hickory). They were the clear victors by a 21-6 margin over Oil City on Monday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Olivia Schneider was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Layla McClung was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Hickory always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Jamestown is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Hickory, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-7.
