Joliet Catholic barely beat Carmel the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hilltoppers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Corsairs an 11-0 shutout on Saturday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-7 on Saturday.

Joliet Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-13 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Carmel, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-17.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Joliet Catholic will face off against Benet Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Redwings' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Hilltoppers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Carmel, they will head out to take on Niles Notre Dame at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Corsairs are facing the Dons at the right time seeing as the Dons are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
