Basketball Recap: Alison Viersma Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Brevard Christian

Master's Academy's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 29-12 victory over the Brevard Christian War Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 27-17 back in December of 2024.

Master's Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alison Viersma, who posted 13 points along with seven steals and six boards. Viersma has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last eight times she's played. Phoenix Henderson was another key player, putting up nine points and six steals.

Master's Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Master's Academy pushed their record up to 6-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.8 points per game. As for Brevard Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Master's Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 34-20 loss against Jupiter Christian on the 10th. As for Brevard Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Melbourne at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st.
