Softball Recap: Monroeville Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Monroeville's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They blew past the New London Wildcats 15-5. Considering the Eagles have won 13 matches by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Taryn Tyler, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Reiber, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Monroeville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New London only posted an OBP of .346.

Monroeville is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for New London, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-8.

Monroeville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
