Football Recap: Claremont's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Claremont extended their winning streak to six on Friday, bumping them up to 6-0. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 28-24 W against the Los Osos Grizzlies. This was payback for the Wolfpack, who suffered a 34-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Leading Claremont to victory were Max Leeper and Doug Yegge. Leeper picked up 103 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Yegge picked up 46 receiving yards and one score. Leeper didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made three total tackles in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.

Claremont didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Leeper and Josiah Badger. Leeper got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

As for Los Osos, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4. They gained 103 more yards on the day, but it was Claremont that made the best use of them.

Although Los Osos took the loss, they still got scores from Isaiah Stewart, Jack Abbott, and Isaiah Guerrero.

Claremont didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-0 defeat against Charter Oak on the 10th. As for Los Osos, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 28-21 victory against Colony on the 9th.
