Recap: First Academy Eagles vs. Hampden DuBose Academy Lions
On Tuesday, First Academy earned a 51-41 win over Hampden DuBose Academy. The win made it back-to-back wins for First Academy.
Amari Smith was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 19 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Bryce Norflee, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
First Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-9. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Hampden DuBose Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
First Academy and Meadowbrook Academy will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Meadowbrook Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully First Academy likes a good challenge. Hampden DuBose Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
