Football Recap: Bridge City Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Bridge City strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They enjoyed a cozy 40-23 win over the Lumberton Raiders. The Cardinals have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Raiders, too.

A big part of Bridge City's victory came down to the chemistry between Hudson Hoffman and his top target Abraham Munguia. Hoffman threw for 327 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes while Munguia picked up 229 receiving yards and three scores. Munguia's longest reception was for an incredible 92 yards.

Although Lumberton took the loss, they still got scores from Nic Cratic, Chase Williams, and Evan Jenkins.

Bridge City's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Lumberton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Bridge City will square off against rival Vidor at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lumberton is set to challenge their familiar foe Hargrave at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
