Baseball Recap: Gate City Comes Up Short

Gate City fell victim to John Battle and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Trojans, falling 10-0. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost eight in a row.

Gate City's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5-1. As for John Battle, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Gate City is set to take on their familiar foe Lee at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, John Battle will face off against rival Abingdon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Trojans 3.1, the Falcons 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
