Basketball Recap: Summit Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Summit Christian Academy is still winless after their matchup against Walsingham Academy on Friday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 25-23 heartbreaker at the hands of the Walsingham Academy Trojans. The Eagles lost against the Trojans in their previous head to head back in February of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 66-11 score last time.

Emmy Coleman was Summit Christian Academy's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Leah Ashmore held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

Summit Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Walsingham Academy, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2.

Summit Christian Academy will be taking part in a tournament against Greenbrier Christian Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Walsingham Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against StoneBridge at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
