Basketball Recap: Parsippany Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from David Niedermaier and Alex Schmieder

Parsippany lost against Morristown-Beard back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The matchup between the Parsippany Redhawks and the Morristown-Beard Crimson didn't end well, with the Parsippany Redhawks falling 60-46. While losing is never fun, the Redhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while the Crimson are ranked 87th).

Parsippany's loss came despite strong showings from Alex Schmieder and David Niedermaier. Schmieder posted seven points in addition to six steals and five boards, while Niedermaier had 14 points. What's more, Niedermaier also posted a 57% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in January. Thomas Niedermaier was another key player, putting up seven points along with six assists and five rebounds.

Parsippany's record now sits at 11-11. As for Morristown-Beard, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season.

Parsippany has already played their next game (against High Point), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. After both having extra time off, Morristown-Beard and St. Mary will dust off their jerseys to take on one another on March 3rd.
