Softball Recap: East's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

East came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the West Panthers with a sharp 16-6 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 20-10 back in April.

Amaiah Garcia made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over 6.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, Ana Martinez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Jewelianna Martinez was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

East kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive matches.

East's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-10. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-16.

East wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 16-6 victory against Skyline on the 7th. West does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
