Softball Recap: Desert Vista's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

Desert Vista dropped their record down to 25-8 on Thursday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins at home. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mountain View Toros. The Thunder were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Toros earlier this season, when they won 13-3.

Desert Vista saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Briski, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

As for Mountain View, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games.

On Mountain View's side, Daniella Gloria spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. Gloria has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kylynn Sylvester was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Ashlyn Parra was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

Desert Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mountain View, they will square off against Red Mountain on Wednesday.
