Basketball Recap: King's Ridge Christian's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

King's Ridge Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the Whitefield Academy WolfPack. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Tigers have suffered against the WolfPack since January 26, 2018.

Despite the loss, King's Ridge Christian still got an impressive performance from Zeplin Kidd, who went 8 for 16 on his way to 24 points. What's more, Kidd also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Alex Lowry was another key player, putting up ten points and six rebounds.

King's Ridge Christian's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-12. As for Whitefield Academy, they moved to 13-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

King's Ridge Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 72-54 victory against Mount Vernon on the 5th. As for Whitefield Academy, they will challenge St. Francis at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Francis knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Whitefield Academy likes a good challenge.
