Soccer Recap: Southern Springs Falls to Marathon in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Southern Springs unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They fell 2-0 to the Marathon Olympians on Monday. Southern Springs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Marathon apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Marathon's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Marathon will square off against Groton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Southern Springs will be paying especially close attention to the Olympians' match: after the Olympians face off against Newfield, they'll take on Southern Springs again at 4:30 p.m. on the 30th.
