Softball Recap: North Judson-San Pierre Has No Trouble Against South Newton

North Judson-San Pierre won the last time they faced South Newton and things went their way on Saturday too. The Bluejays were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Rebels. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bluejays.

Molly Madsen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Alyssa Lambert was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Catlin Hammack was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

North Judson-San Pierre was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

North Judson-San Pierre's record now sits at 6-8. As for South Newton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Judson-San Pierre will face off against Triton at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Newton, they will square off against DeMotte Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.56 runs per game on average), something the Rebels will no doubt try to take advantage of.
