Softball Recap: Elkhart Triumphs

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Elkhart had no problem doing just that on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Warsaw Tigers a 5-0 shutout. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

The result came thanks to Laci Stimac's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Addison Reid was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Bailey Harris-Rogers also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Elkhart's record is now 17-12. As for Warsaw, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.
