Basketball Recap: Bluffton Skates Past Hilton Head Christian Academy with Ease

Bluffton was handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Hilton Head Christian Academy on Friday. The Bobcats claimed a resounding 86-58 victory over the Eagles. The Bobcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Leading Bluffton to victory were Harry Skinner and Carnell Warren. Skinner went 8-for-14 on his way to 20 points in addition to eight assists and six boards, while Warren shot 75% from the field to rack up 14 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, Skinner now owns an excellent 41.4% three-point shooting accuracy. Malcom Gordon was another key player, shooting 71% from the field en route to 10 points and eight rebounds.

Bluffton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Despite the loss, Hilton Head Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Jake Wood, who went 6-for-10 from beyond the arc on his way to 23 points and eight boards. The contest was Wood's third in a row with at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael O'Connell, who posted 12 points.

With the win, Bluffton broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3. As for Hilton Head Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Bluffton will take on John Paul II in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hilton Head Christian Academy and May River will compete for holiday cheer at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Sharks have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
