Softball Recap: Nimitz Takes a Loss

If Nimitz was riding high fresh off their 17-9 takedown of Benjamin Davis on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars came up short against the Eisenhower Eagles on Tuesday, falling 21-11. The Cougars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Makenzie White was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and four runs. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Clarrissa Guerrero was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Nimitz's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Eisenhower, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-8.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Nimitz is set to take on their familiar foe Spring at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Eisenhower will square off against rival Aldine at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
