Volleyball Recap: Air Academy Kadets vs. Palmer Ridge Bears
Air Academy hadn't beaten Palmer Ridge on the road since October 15, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Kadets had just enough and edged out the Bears 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Kadets have posted against the Bears since April 20, 2021.
Air Academy was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-23, 18-25, 25-20, 15-6.
Mae Magoon paced Air Academy's offense, picking up 15 kills. Magoon got some help from Jiselle Rodriquez and her 17 assists. Camillia Caldwell controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Despite the loss, Palmer Ridge saw an underclassman step up: freshman Henley Kay had five aces and four digs. Those five aces set a new season-high mark for Kay. Hannah Gray also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

The victory (which was Air Academy's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. As for Palmer Ridge, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
