Baseball Recap: Sweeny Comes Up Short

Sweeny saw some tournament action on Thursday. They fell just short of the Harlingen Cardinals by a score of 4-2.

Sweeny dropped their record down to 7-7-1 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.75 runs. As for Harlingen, they moved to 4-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coincidentally, Sweeny and Harlingen will both be playing Bellville the next time they take the field. Harlingen will head out to face Bellville at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, while Sweeny will head out to face them at 8:30 a.m. on Friday.
