Baseball Recap: Central Hardin Victorious

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Central Hardin nor DeSales made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Bruins sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Colts. The Bruins haven't had any issues with the Colts recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Jordan Bailey looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

On the hitting side, Central Hardin let Kellen Brandenburg and Caleb Irwin run wild. Brandenburg went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Irwin got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Devin Hubbard, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Central Hardin's win bumped their record up to 13-18. As for DeSales, they now have a losing record of 15-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Hardin will challenge Bullitt Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for DeSales, they will take on Southern at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
