Basketball Recap: Lincoln Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Lincoln faced off against Grafton on Wednesday. The Lincoln Cougars came up short against the Grafton Bearcats, falling 50-29. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 53-43 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

It was another big night for Kenna Keener, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 11 boards for Grafton. Keener has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 12 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Natalie Beltner, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 11 points.

Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Grafton, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 17-0.

Coming up, Lincoln will welcome Ripley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Grafton, they will challenge Hurricane at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Grafton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.3 points per game this season.
