In a back and forth game,
Sprague (Salem, Ore.)'s offense came through to hand the the Olympians a 36-33 win.
After taking the lead on a
John Marshall touchdown run in the first quarter, the Olympians led 29-14 at the half.
Sprague saw its 15-point halftime lead fall to eight entering the fourth.
SHS led by as many as 22 points before the Generals cut into the final margin.
The Salem school's standout player in the win was
Devvon Goge. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.
Grant's
Sam Davis played well. He threw four touchdowns and ran for one touchdown.
The loss comes after Grant defeated Barlow 21-10 last week. The victory was a step in the right direction for the Olympians, which was coming off a 29-26 defeat at the hands of West Salem in its previous game.
Sprague (4-1) will play a 6A Central Valley game against South Salem next week, while Grant (2-3) will take on Oregon City in a non-conference game.
