Baseball Recap: Nashoba Valley Tech Beats East Boston for Their Third Straight Victory

Nashoba Valley Tech entered their tilt with East Boston on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Jets by a score of 9-6. While the Vikings didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Richie Collins was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Collins was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, Zane Beausoleil was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Nashoba Valley Tech: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Matt Brady also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Nashoba Valley Tech's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for East Boston, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nashoba Valley Tech will challenge Minuteman Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Minuteman's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for East Boston, they will face off against Boston International at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
