Basketball Recap: Union City Victorious

Union City's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the Homer Trojans by a score of 64-51. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Union City had a senior duo take command as Elijah Payne went 8-for-14 on his way to 23 points and five rebounds and Aidan Decker almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. That's the most points Payne has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Rick Austin, who earned ten points.

Union City's record is now 15-8. As for Homer, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-18.

Union City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 54-49 loss against Centreville on the 26th. Homer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
