The Central Catholic Rams will head out to challenge Nelson at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Central Catholic comes in on five and Nelson on six.

Central Catholic let Portland Razo and Olivia Pompetti run wild. Razo went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases and two runs, while Pompetti got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most doubles Pompetti has posted since back in May of 2024. Sidney Ginter was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Central Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Nelson). They were the clear victors by a 20-0 margin over David Douglas on Wednesday. Nelson might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by eight runs or more this season.
The team relied heavily on Emma Hazel, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Alyvia Pietsch, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.
Nelson's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-9. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Central Catholic, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
Central Catholic's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's game. The Rams have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.6 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Nelson, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Central Catholic continue to outrun the ball?
Central Catholic beat Nelson 10-7 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
