Softball Recap: Johnson County Takes a Loss

Johnson County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the West Greene Buffaloes. That's two games in a row now that the Longhorns have lost by just one run.

Johnson County's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for West Greene, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Johnson County will square off against Ashe County at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Johnson County's pitchers better be ready for this one: Ashe County has averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for West Greene, they will take on Cherokee at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
