Volleyball Recap: Calvary Christian Academy's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Calvary Christian Academy came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Mater Academy Charter Lions as they made off with a 3-0 win.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-18, 25-7.

Camryn Kanell paced Calvary Christian Academy's offense, picking up nine kills. Kanell got some help from Sophia Azevedo and her 19 assists. Kanell was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Despite the defeat, Mater Academy Charter had strong showings from Sara Del Castillo, who had seven aces and three digs, and VALERIA LIRA, who had seven digs and four aces. Del Castillo is crushing it when it comes to aces: she's served at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Calvary Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Mater Academy Charter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Calvary Christian Academy and Mater Academy Charter will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Eagles will take on rival FAU High at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mater Academy Charter is set to face off against their familiar foe Miami Beach at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
