Preview: Chicago Tech vs. Amundsen
Chicago Tech and Amundsen both found success in their previous games. Chicago Tech didn't have too many spare points last week in its contest with Senn, but still walked away with a 22 - 16 win. As for Amundsen, it came out on top against Prosser last week with a 34 - 20 win.
Chicago Tech's victory last week was the first back-to-back wins for the squad this season. Senior Armani Webster was a big part of the win as his strong performance led the charge (he caught passes for 87 yards and one touchdown). Webster was also an imposing presence on the defensive end with 14 tackles. The win got Chicago Tech up to 3-3.
Meanwhile, Amundsen might be getting used to wins now that the team has gotten four in a row. It got the good result in part due to two touchdowns from senior Jonny Sanders, who has now contributed at least one touchdown in the past six games. Sophomore Isaiah Morris was another big-time player for Amundsen. He tacked on three touchdowns to Amundsen's score. This marked the 3rd consecutive game in which Morris had 100+ rushing yards. The win lifted Amundsen to 5-1.
While both teams are coming off of wins, only one will triumph this week. We'll find out soon enough who that will be.
