Floyd Central will bounce into Saturday's match after beating Shelby Valley, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Floyd Central snuck past Shelby Valley with a 73-67 victory on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Jaguars have won by exactly six points.

Floyd Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Wesley Buck led the charge by going 8-for-15 en route to 22 points and eight rebounds. Buck continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Chris Spriggs, who shot 88% from the field to rack up 18 points and six assists.

Meanwhile, Betsy Layne had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.7 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Blackcats 83-80. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bobcats have posted since January 24th.

Betsy Layne's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.8 points over those games. As for Floyd Central, their win bumped their record up to 11-18.
