Basketball Game Preview: Evansville Christian Eagles vs. Boonville Pioneers

The Evansville Christian Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Boonville Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Evansville Christian is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Rock Creek Academy just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 63-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while the Lions are ranked 107th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Boonville). They put the hurt on Pike Central with a sharp 65-39 victory on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Boonville and bumps their season record up to 3-3. As for Evansville Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Everything came up roses for Evansville Christian against Boonville in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 65-36 win. Does Evansville Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Boonville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
