Baseball Game Preview: Shawnee Braves vs. Northwestern Warriors

The Shawnee Braves will head out on the road to square off against the Northwestern Warriors at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Shawnee lost 9-3 to Indian Lake on Tuesday.

Shawnee saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Finnell, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Finnell also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Kaiden Roeder was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Northwestern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Shawnee, falling 8-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Warriors were not able to get on the board.

Shawnee has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Northwestern, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Shawnee took their victory against Northwestern in their previous meeting on Monday by a conclusive 8-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Braves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
