Baseball Recap: Auburn Comes Up Short

Auburn and Pleasant Plains squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Auburn had to settle for second. They came up short against the Cardinals, falling 9-0. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Cardinals: they've now lost five in a row.

Auburn saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Campbell, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Auburn's defeat dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Pleasant Plains, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 31-7.

As of now, neither Auburn nor the Cardinals have any future games scheduled.
