Baseball Game Preview: Vista Ridge Wolves vs. Doherty Spartans

For the second straight game, Vista Ridge will face off against Doherty. The Wolves will take on the Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Vista Ridge fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Doherty on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 3-2. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 12, 2022, but that streak is no more.

For Doherty's part, Derek Graham spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up eight Ks. The Spartans are 3-1 when Graham allows two or fewer earned runs, but 6-8 otherwise.

Vista Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Doherty, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season.
