Basketball Recap: Harding Academy Lions vs. St. George's Gryphons
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Harding Academy had no problem doing just that on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the St. George's Gryphons 62-21. The win was familiar territory for the Lions, who have now won five contests in a row.
Harding Academy found their leader in sophomore Bella Rose Austin, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 14 boards. Those 14 rebounds gave Austin a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emory Miller, who went 7-for-11 on her way to 14 points and eight boards.
Harding Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 30 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 15 consecutive games.
