Softball Game Preview: Academy for Academic Excellence Knights vs. Victor Valley Jackrabbits

The Academy for Academic Excellence Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Victor Valley Jackrabbits at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Things were looking good for Academy for Academic Excellence after they put the first points on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hesperia Christian.

Meanwhile, Victor Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch last Monday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Apple Valley, falling 18-2.

Victor Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrea Garcia, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That stolen base marked the first that Garcia snagged this season.

Academy for Academic Excellence has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5-1 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. Victor Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Academy for Academic Excellence might still be hurting after the 14-0 loss they got from Victor Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2020. Can Academy for Academic Excellence avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
