York hasn't had much luck against Grafton recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Falcons will head out to square off against the Clippers at 4:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Friday, York made easy work of Tabb and carried off a 15-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won nine contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Sarah Witt made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off ten hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bri Petrolia, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Leah Hunter, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
York kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Grafton got the win against Lafayette on Monday by a conclusive 15-1. Considering the Clippers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Gianna Mullvihill was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one run. Madelyn Shields also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
York is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Grafton, their record is now 7-10.
York's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's contest. The Falcons have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Grafton, though, as they've been averaging only 0.5 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will York continue to outrun the ball?
York took their win against Grafton in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 10-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
